Business etiquette: details determine professionalism

In the workplace business etiquette sharing session, the guest speaker Ms. Duan Yixin gave a detailed explanation from many aspects such as professional dress, interview etiquette, and business banquets. She emphasised that workplace attire should follow the principles of "appropriate, concise and appropriate to the scene". In business casual occasions, Ms. Duan recommends no more than three color combinations to avoid overly casual materials.

In terms of interview etiquette and communication skills, Ms. Duan explained the importance of smiling and the use of various body languages. She emphasized the importance of language arts, suggesting the use of "soft language" to improve communication affinity. When communicating online, you need to be cautious about using emojis, and give preference to neutral expressions such as "handshake" and "rose". In addition, in the business banquet etiquette part, Mr. Duan explained in detail the seating arrangement, ordering skills and detail control.

Employment experience: Equal emphasis on hard power and soft power

During the application experience and skills sharing session, many alumni from different industries shared their valuable experiences. Chen Jiebin, Deputy General Manager of the Human Resources Department of China Property & Casualty Reinsurance Co., Ltd., provided practical advice to the students on resume optimization, internship selection, and balance between academic qualifications and abilities. He pointed out that the resume should highlight three cores: academic performance, internship experience and professional qualifications, and analyzed and guided the specific presentation. Alumni Zhang Pei, General Manager of the Bancassurance Business Department and General Manager of Shenzhen Branch of Trustmutualife Insurance Co., Ltd., shared his experience and feelings with the students in detail from the dimensions of focusing on campus student activities, actively participating in professional internships, and knowing how to be grateful to the school and college, and encouraged everyone to find the right direction and try boldly. Ms. Liu Jing, Senior Director of Compensation Management of the Human Resources Department of Taikang Life, gave advice from the perspective of internship and industry selection. She said that internships should be "planned early and tried more", and in the sophomore and junior years, they can try across industries to clarify their personal suitability. After identifying the target industry, you need to choose an internship that is strongly related to the position and accumulate vertical experience. Tao Ran, a policy analyst at the Research Department of CITIC Securities, emphasized: "Industry trends affect the career ceiling, and it is recommended to pay attention to sunrise fields, such as big health and technology finance. Chen Yanan, Industry Manager of the Internet Customer Department of China Telecom Beijing, said: "Information gap is the key to career choice, communicate with alumni from different industries to avoid blindly following trends. President Zhang Geng encouraged students to cherish the resources provided by schools and colleges, correctly view the choices of gains and losses in university life, and actively engage in practical actions from the three dimensions of "information gap", "cognition gap" and "execution gap", and emphasized: "The workplace is a battlefield for lifelong learning, maintain curiosity and execution, and time will give the answer." ”

In the interactive Q&A session, students actively asked questions, covering job search planning, internship search, social skills and other aspects. The alumni patiently answered questions and gave practical advice based on their own experiences. In terms of the balance between academic qualifications and abilities, many guests mentioned that academic qualifications are "stepping stones", but soft power determines long-term development, and soft power needs to comprehensively improve communication and coordination skills and cultivate "problem-solving" thinking through professional learning and student activities during school.

This workplace business etiquette and application experience skills sharing session opened a door to the workplace for students, so that everyone has a deeper understanding of workplace business etiquette and job application. Every detail of business etiquette and every skill in the application process contains the code of success, helping CUFE Business School students to "wear the right clothes, walk the right way, and find the right direction" on the road to job hunting.
